   Thanks for this, Gordon! Excellent, and very handy discussion. I know that I’ve tried various backers on my strops to include different leather weights, and most recently, hard felt with 2000+ grit wet/dry sandpaper to maintain a convex edge, followed by polishing. I’m nowhere near expert, but the topic fascinates me. Huge satisfaction in creating and maintaining a razor edge. (Keep ’em coming! Enjoying your videos, too!)

      Hey Bruce. That’s a great idea. Leather knives need a unique edge, right? I find that water stones are super because of the slury that works up with them. Think I might try some micro fine film over hard felt too.
