These blades are made one at a time from the toughest tool steel, S7.  The first third of the blades edges are knife sharp so it actualy cuts its way through the leather.  The rest of the blades edges are pollished so that it opens the hole for passage of the stitching needles.  Blade length is measured extending from the awl haft, 1 3/8″.  It will work well for the cantle bindings of saddles.

Polyester is a quality material for hand stitching thread. Like linen, it has little stretch, and it holds wax well.  Unlike linen or nylon, it is resistant to sunlight.

This traditionaly plied thread is ‘plied’, or spun from it’s individual fibers.  Unlike braided thread it’s twisted fibers pull tightly together when the stitch is pulled tight, giving hand stitching it’s traditional appearance and strength.

These knives are made from Stainless Steel with machined and fabricated Solid Bronze yokes.  Each knife contains two instrument bearings for a stable and smooth action.  The knurled texture is exceptional, giving the user greater comfort and control of the carving.
